Do I deserve a Nobel Prize? 69/1000

Obviously the answer is no. I do not deserve a Nobel Prize.
However again due to some favors piece number 69 ended up at the Nobel Peace Center in Oslo, Norway. Take a look at this:

If you were in Oslo about a week and a half ago then you could have snagged this piece as well as used the restrooms at the Nobel Peace center.

Thank you again to Tami and to everyone else who is helping me out with this project. It really does mean a lot to me 🙂

Much love to you all. have a wonderful day.

I get by with a little help from my friends. 66/1000

If any of you out there following this project are in Vienna then I have some good news for you. With the help of some of my friends (Nimrod and Tami, but especially Tami since she is doing all the leg work) piece number 66 has made it to the streets of Vienna Austria. And might I add not just sloppily thrown into the streets, but rather well thought out and gently placed on the front of the Opera House. Here take a looksy:

Take a look right under the sign to the right. See?

Now you can see it. Lets move in for a better look now, shall we?

Looks pretty bad ass doesn’t it? Let zoom in even further. 🙂

And one last one just for good measure. Maybe get a look at some of those details.

Fantastic. Its an odd feeling seeing something that I made out of cardboard and staple just a few weeks ago in my messy living room end up on the front of the Opera House in Vienna but I must say that I appreciate every one that has helped me out with this project, in this case especially Tami and Nimrod (but mostly Tami) and I look forward to spreading more and more art around the world with the help of my friends.

Peace out for now and much much love,

65 & 70 & Dimsum with a fisheye lense

I ended up going out for some Dim Sum at my buddy’s house and decided to get back into this project by dropping the only 2 pieces I had ready at the moment.

Here is number 65 dropped at the Israel Diamond centerImage

And I ended up dropping number 70 on a main intersection right next to my friend’s house. It was picked up about an hour later… even though the velcro didnt hold and it fell on the floor

Image

Then I went and ate some dimsum and listened to some Aqua with some friends. One of which has a huge head. Here he is:

That is all for today. Need to continue packing up the old house 🙂

Much love to you all.

How to ignore rumors (I hate the media).

Well in case you haven’t heard a certain Israeli Publication (who shall remain nameless at this point) decided to publish a story that was completely false about my “1000 pieces of free art in 2013” project, claiming that the project “died out only 2 months into what was supposed to be a year long project”.

Luckily after a very strongly worded letter to the editor the article was removed.

You know the minute that you have a bit of downtime and then all of the sudden rumors start flying from every fucking angle. I can assure you that the rumors are untrue. I have hit hurdle after hurdle on this project and due to moving to a new place and having my studio cluttered, literally to the roof with random shit have hit a bit of a roadblock but have come up with what I like to think are some interesting turns for the future.

I do apologize for not updating this blog over the past few weeks and I can assure you that I will be a bit scarce the next few weeks as well. But you should all know not to listen to rumors. The project is not dead and neither am I.

Pictures and stories coming soon.

Much love to you all. Thank you for you support.

Where do I even begin?

It has been a while since I posted on here and I must say that I have been thinking about how to come back to this. I still have no idea. A lot of shit has been going on since my last post and the last thing I wanted to do was have my first post in more than 2 weeks just be me bitching and moaning about things in my life that all in all aren’t that bad, just overwhelming. So I am not going to do that. Just to get all that malarky out of the way I will just give you a a very abridged list:

Job bullshit

Mold infestation at the house

Lost 6 paintings to the black mold.

sleeping in the living room for the past 2 weeks, because of the mold.

Lack of sleep + apartment hunting + shitty work situation + falling behind on this project = a very interesting form of stress.

There is more but again I am trying to keep this away from a venting blog. Just wanted to let you all know what has been going on.
We did end up finding a new place and we are supposed to move in in about 3 and a half weeks. I am very excited 🙂

I have not really been posting too much stuff outside recently but I have been working on some pretty nifty pieces including a few top secret experimental pieces that I am pumped to unveil when the time comes.

I am a bit behind on pieces that have been dropped and since I have a lot to do right now I am just going to post a few photos with no explanations. Image

That is all I have right now as far as artwork goes but I would like to share something with you that has in the past year or so been adopted into my life philosophy and has recently made a very big and blatant return. Shine the light of truth on any Vampires in your life.
I personally am tired of people with bad attitudes and negative energy weighing me down with their lameness.
Please watch this video and listen up really close. It will help you out in life.

I will do my best to follow up more often. I love you all and do your best to keep things positive.

It begins in Slovakia

Some of you might remember that a few weeks ago I gave my wife’s cousin a bunch of pieces that she was going to help drop off and distribute around Europe.

Well if you happen to be in Košice, Slovakia then have I got some news for you. There are 3 pieces out for the taking and I got some photos that she sent me through something called the “internet”. Let’s have a look.

Here is piece number 18/1000 placed on the Medical faculty statue (street- Trieda S.N.P) Košice

And here we have number 25 located at the St. Alžbetina cathedral, košice

and last but not least we have piece number 29 at the Opera house on Hlavna street (main street)

Image

That is the first of many international drops. Special thanks to Yaeli for all of her help on this, she picked some great spots and sent some bad ass pictures 🙂

I am in the process of working on somethings that are very out of my box and I am excited to share them with you and spread them around.

Much much love to you all,

Noah—

let’s play a bit of catch up.

Alright so things have been a bit hectic and therefore this post will also be a bit hectic unfortunately.

Aside from some personal matters that are putting a tiny bit of pressure on this project, i have some photos that are irretrievable at the moment which would be pretty key to this post…. so I will add a bit of filler 🙂

This is a piece that has been around for a bit and I have forgotten about. I think it is bound for jerusalem 🙂

Image

This is number 52… well the original number 52. When attempting to place this piece I ended up dropping it in a crack that was just wide enough for the piece to fall through and deeper than I could see.

52 is most likely gone forever but I have already completed his replacement, which is now ready and should be posted on the next posting.

Image

This is number 53. I still have it here. maybe tomorrow I will lose it in a crack or place it int he street somewhere. 🙂

Image

Here is number 51 placed outside of my previous place of employment. It was picked up later that evening by a friend of mine.Image

This is something that I have been toying around with. I have completely bitten the concept from the great Adam Neate, but I do plan on taking it in my own direction. He has been a huge inspiration for this project.

Image

This is just a sticker I put up a while back and I am happy to see it is still there 🙂

Image

My wife and I decided to go for a walk near our house the other day and I must say that even though I am pretty happy with out current place of residence I found a new street that I am in love with and I have been looking for apartments there ever since. I am just assuming that it is a bit out of our price range but I am going to go ahead and let myself dream. I feel as though it would be an almost ideal place to raise some kids and maybe even get some dogs. 🙂

We had a very long week and I can say that mine was not as productive as I’d have liked it to have been but this week is pretty much brand new and i feel that a fire can be lit under my ass again. Need to kettlebell and get back to actually moving my meat based soul purse around and get a bit of energy back. These fucking office jobs just get to me. Anyways, Friday night we ended up having an awesome dinner. I made rib eye steaks with asparagus and mushrooms as well as my 2 onion masked potatoes and a bottle of wine made at Caduceus. It was Maynard’s first batch from his New Mexican vines and it was very special to me. I might have been a bit biased but I though it was pretty damn good. Although Talli said it was pretty good as well, so I think it was pretty good 🙂

That is all that I have for now. I have to get some sleep and I have to have a productive week.

Much much love to you all,

49/1000 and sabich oved

So it was voting day yesterday which means…. day off and a good excuse to go get some Sabich.
Since I moved to Israel over 6 years ago I had heard that the best sabich of all time was in a suburb of Tel Aviv called Givataim.

I rarely do make it out there but my wife and I have been curious about this place for 6 years and over the past few weeks my wife and I have discussed going and finally checking it out… turns out that the day off for voting was a perfect time. After about a week and a half of epic rain (for Israel) the weather cleared up and it is basically summer again during the days which made for some nice walking weather. We decided to hoof it to the famed Sabich Oved.  It is a very unassuming place, looks like any other falafel or sabcih joint but the line was pretty heavy. I think it was about 12 people deep when we arrived, and the thing about it is that Oved doesn’t really care that there are people in line….. he takes his sweet ass time with every single order and you can tell that he actually loves what he does or is completely bat shit crazy. It might even be a bit of column A and a bit of column B.  Once we are almost to the head of the line we were informed that if any of us were in a hurry we could go to a secondary line. About half the people moved but we decided to stay put and get the full experience.

So out turn finally comes and I will be honest, I was a bit anxious. I was pretty sure that I had no idea what the hell he was talking about right off the bat.  I understood his verbing of nouns and I tried to follow along with other peoples order so that I knew that a “Goal” of one soccer team was spicy sauce and the other was mango… but when the time came I froze. I just said “Goal” and then pointed to the red sauce. I think he understood that I was flustered and just let me get away with what so many others had not. He told us we were about to eat the best sabich in the universe, wished us a happy new year and that was that.

We ended up getting our piping hot nice fresh sabichs and sitting at a table that was recently vacated and still decorated with the last customer’s dirty napkins and near empty coke bottles but neither one of us even bothered to clean up before we sank our teeth into this legendary sandwich and it was……pretty good. I was honestly not impressed. It could be that my expectations were to high but I just thought it was mediocre. Don’t get me wrong though. The eggplant that he used was unbelievable. Treated and cooked perfectly that eggplant could hold its own against anything else I have tried, but the bread and all the other filling was just above mediocre in my opinion. I was a bit disappointed. Could it be that we just hit on an off day? Who knows, not me.

On our way back to Ramat Gan I decided that placing piece number 49/1000 on the border of Ramat Gan/Givataim would be nice. I feel like it is an under appreciated area and wanted to maybe bring some people there to enjoy it 🙂

There is probably some more but whatever. I hope you all had a great election day.

Much love,

46, 47 & 48 of 1000.

It has been a great day. Work actually flew by. I finished up 3 pieces at work and came up with some more ideas to incorporate into this project. 🙂

I took a little walk down Allenby street in Tel Aviv today looking for a ukelele for another project I was planning on working on, only to find that the only place I could find that had ukeleles was a huge rip off. Their cheapest model was a bout $50, luckily I found one on Ebay for about $20 including shipping.  I decided to drop my pieces along the path I walked.

Piece number 46. Not sure if it is still there but I left it on this payphone on the corner of Allenby and Yehuda Halevy:

Image

Image

I walked down the street a bit and I don’t recall exactly where this was but it was on Allenby just around Ahad Ha’am, number 47:

Image

Image

And then I turned off Allenby to King George to head towards a buddy’s house to play some nerdy boardgames and dropped off one of my older pieces, which also happens to be one of my favorites. Here is number 48:

Image

Image

Number 48 was found about 10 minutes after I posted it on facebook. I am glad that it has found a good home 🙂

it has been a long week and its only tuesday. I still need to post number 33. It is too big for me to carry around waiting for an opportunity. I need to think of a specific spot ahead of time. Might be destined for Jerusalem. I don’t know.

Anyways I would like to thank you all again for the support and positive vibes that I am getting on this project.

Much much love,
