Hey there. How’s it going?
It’s been a while I know. Things have changed. Ever since beginning my new job I have a lot less time and FAR less energy than before (but it is still hands down the best job I have ever had). So I don’t get as much time to paint and draw anymore and that is one of the main reasons I am SO far behind on this project.
I almost gave up several times in the last 3 months but in the end I decided to still do my best to pull through. I might fail anyway but I am going to do my best to stomp out a bunch of work in the following months.
I have a bunch of photos to post but I don’t want to clog up this post with a bunch of previously dropped art (although that will come soon as well).
I have printed 500 very high quality digital prints on 300 gram paper. Each print is signed and numbered by hand and will be distributed across the globe. I already have a bundle in Canada and I have packages ready to ship to New Mexico, South Africa, England, Seattle and a few more places.
I have been wanting to do these prints for a while now but I wanted to release them in sequential order after piece number 100.
well I finally finished piece 100 today.
Now that number 100 is complete I can go ahead and distribute more pieces.
I got a stock pile of stuff here at home and going to enlist some of you good people to help me spread this work.
I have been getting so much support from a lot of you and it is really helping this project get closer to its potential successful end. 🙂
I have a few more bigger pieces that I am working on and I am excited about some of the new mediums as well including fuzed glass, plexiglass and wood.
Well anywho that is my update for now. I will try to keep up here a bit more often…. but we’ll see how that goes.
Much much love,
It has been a while since I posted on here and I must say that I have been thinking about how to come back to this. I still have no idea. A lot of shit has been going on since my last post and the last thing I wanted to do was have my first post in more than 2 weeks just be me bitching and moaning about things in my life that all in all aren’t that bad, just overwhelming. So I am not going to do that. Just to get all that malarky out of the way I will just give you a a very abridged list:
Mold infestation at the house
Lost 6 paintings to the black mold.
sleeping in the living room for the past 2 weeks, because of the mold.
Lack of sleep + apartment hunting + shitty work situation + falling behind on this project = a very interesting form of stress.
There is more but again I am trying to keep this away from a venting blog. Just wanted to let you all know what has been going on.
We did end up finding a new place and we are supposed to move in in about 3 and a half weeks. I am very excited 🙂
I have not really been posting too much stuff outside recently but I have been working on some pretty nifty pieces including a few top secret experimental pieces that I am pumped to unveil when the time comes.
I am a bit behind on pieces that have been dropped and since I have a lot to do right now I am just going to post a few photos with no explanations.
That is all I have right now as far as artwork goes but I would like to share something with you that has in the past year or so been adopted into my life philosophy and has recently made a very big and blatant return. Shine the light of truth on any Vampires in your life.
I personally am tired of people with bad attitudes and negative energy weighing me down with their lameness.
Please watch this video and listen up really close. It will help you out in life.
I will do my best to follow up more often. I love you all and do your best to keep things positive.
Some of you might remember that a few weeks ago I gave my wife’s cousin a bunch of pieces that she was going to help drop off and distribute around Europe.
Well if you happen to be in Košice, Slovakia then have I got some news for you. There are 3 pieces out for the taking and I got some photos that she sent me through something called the “internet”. Let’s have a look.
Here is piece number 18/1000 placed on the Medical faculty statue (street- Trieda S.N.P) Košice
And here we have number 25 located at the St. Alžbetina cathedral, košice
and last but not least we have piece number 29 at the Opera house on Hlavna street (main street)
That is the first of many international drops. Special thanks to Yaeli for all of her help on this, she picked some great spots and sent some bad ass pictures 🙂
I am in the process of working on somethings that are very out of my box and I am excited to share them with you and spread them around.
Much much love to you all,
So it was voting day yesterday which means…. day off and a good excuse to go get some Sabich.
Since I moved to Israel over 6 years ago I had heard that the best sabich of all time was in a suburb of Tel Aviv called Givataim.
I rarely do make it out there but my wife and I have been curious about this place for 6 years and over the past few weeks my wife and I have discussed going and finally checking it out… turns out that the day off for voting was a perfect time. After about a week and a half of epic rain (for Israel) the weather cleared up and it is basically summer again during the days which made for some nice walking weather. We decided to hoof it to the famed Sabich Oved. It is a very unassuming place, looks like any other falafel or sabcih joint but the line was pretty heavy. I think it was about 12 people deep when we arrived, and the thing about it is that Oved doesn’t really care that there are people in line….. he takes his sweet ass time with every single order and you can tell that he actually loves what he does or is completely bat shit crazy. It might even be a bit of column A and a bit of column B. Once we are almost to the head of the line we were informed that if any of us were in a hurry we could go to a secondary line. About half the people moved but we decided to stay put and get the full experience.
So out turn finally comes and I will be honest, I was a bit anxious. I was pretty sure that I had no idea what the hell he was talking about right off the bat. I understood his verbing of nouns and I tried to follow along with other peoples order so that I knew that a “Goal” of one soccer team was spicy sauce and the other was mango… but when the time came I froze. I just said “Goal” and then pointed to the red sauce. I think he understood that I was flustered and just let me get away with what so many others had not. He told us we were about to eat the best sabich in the universe, wished us a happy new year and that was that.
We ended up getting our piping hot nice fresh sabichs and sitting at a table that was recently vacated and still decorated with the last customer’s dirty napkins and near empty coke bottles but neither one of us even bothered to clean up before we sank our teeth into this legendary sandwich and it was……pretty good. I was honestly not impressed. It could be that my expectations were to high but I just thought it was mediocre. Don’t get me wrong though. The eggplant that he used was unbelievable. Treated and cooked perfectly that eggplant could hold its own against anything else I have tried, but the bread and all the other filling was just above mediocre in my opinion. I was a bit disappointed. Could it be that we just hit on an off day? Who knows, not me.
On our way back to Ramat Gan I decided that placing piece number 49/1000 on the border of Ramat Gan/Givataim would be nice. I feel like it is an under appreciated area and wanted to maybe bring some people there to enjoy it 🙂
There is probably some more but whatever. I hope you all had a great election day.
It has been a great day. Work actually flew by. I finished up 3 pieces at work and came up with some more ideas to incorporate into this project. 🙂
I took a little walk down Allenby street in Tel Aviv today looking for a ukelele for another project I was planning on working on, only to find that the only place I could find that had ukeleles was a huge rip off. Their cheapest model was a bout $50, luckily I found one on Ebay for about $20 including shipping. I decided to drop my pieces along the path I walked.
Piece number 46. Not sure if it is still there but I left it on this payphone on the corner of Allenby and Yehuda Halevy:
I walked down the street a bit and I don’t recall exactly where this was but it was on Allenby just around Ahad Ha’am, number 47:
And then I turned off Allenby to King George to head towards a buddy’s house to play some nerdy boardgames and dropped off one of my older pieces, which also happens to be one of my favorites. Here is number 48:
Number 48 was found about 10 minutes after I posted it on facebook. I am glad that it has found a good home 🙂
it has been a long week and its only tuesday. I still need to post number 33. It is too big for me to carry around waiting for an opportunity. I need to think of a specific spot ahead of time. Might be destined for Jerusalem. I don’t know.
Anyways I would like to thank you all again for the support and positive vibes that I am getting on this project.
Much much love,
I will upload just the pictures for the time being. The text will be updated sometime later today.
(I barely updated the text. Whatever I am tired. This is it for this post)
Here is number 42 at the corner of Namir and Arlozorov.
Here is number 43 dropped in front of Allenby 31
Here is number 44 located on Itzchak Sade.
And last but not least number 45 dropped at Kikar Dizzengoff.
So for anyone interested in checking out more of the artists and art involved in this event please just go HERE. The page is mostly in Hebrew, but just like the page and enjoy the images.
It has a been good but long day so I am going to make this short. I left work today with 2 pieces (35 and 36) with the intention of meeting up with my buddy and dropping the pieces somewhere in the heart of tel aviv.
On the way there my buddy found piece number 2/1000
That was a pretty sweet.
We made our way down to Dizzengoff center and walked around that area for a bit before I decided that both pieces will be placed on Bogrosgov street today. As luck would have it I found a few really great spots and both pieces were already nabbed. That makes my fucking day 🙂
This is me putting up number 35
And now here is 35
And number 36
I think that is all… I am stupid tired.
Have a good night my lovelies 🙂
I am well aware that 33 was skipped. 33 is a larger piece and I don’t always have it in me to just carry it around. So the next time I go out specifically to drop some pieces I will take it 🙂
Anyway I finally discovered an awesome art store in Tel Aviv. I honestly am not sure how I have been getting by without this place. If you live in the Tel Aviv area, and you want some Golden acrylics, or you want just good prices on quality product then seriously… kanvas.co.il. The address is Eilat 15 in Yaffo. Right next to Machon Avni. I accidentally spent a bit too much there but I got out with some awesome stuff. 🙂
On my out there I decided to drop piece 34 under a bridge on Menachim Begin, not to far from that big government building caddy corner to Azrieli.
On the way back I decided to stop by and surprise my wife as she was wrapping up some work. I waited outside as she packed up and while waiting decided to put up piece 35. I had forgotten to prep this piece, luckily I found a scrap of velrcro in my back pack and a pocket knife to cut it with 🙂 This piece is on Lincoln, right next to the Tachtit coffee shop.
After that we got home and finished up all of the days chores and passed out… that is why I didnt post this last night.
I have some very exciting pieces to come…. here are some very early sneak peaks.
So I guess that is all for now. I hope that this entry finds you well and that we all have a very bearable day at least…. hell lets try and make it a good day even 🙂
Much much love,
My Dear sweet friends,
I started out that day with 15 pieces of art, some of which were destined to hit the streets of Tel Aviv.
My wife’s cousin, Yaeli who is studying in Slovakia offered to take a few pieces with her to drop off while she is out there. Well her flight left this afternoon so we headed over there this morning to say goodbye and give her a few pieces to take. Long story short, she offered to take all 15 pieces and even have some of her fellow med students take them all over Europe when they go back home in between exams….. That is awesome.
So it will most likely be a while until I post the pictures of these items dropped, but if you would like to see these items then you can see what they look like by clicking HERE
So Yaeli should be landing any minute now with all 15 pieces which will be randomly spread over Europe in the coming weeks and months.
Thank you Yaeli! 🙂
As for new artwork, well I have a lot of new things in the works but I don’t want to give away too much before it is done so here you go for now:
Well now that the weather is clearing up, hopefully for the week, there is a lot of stuff to be dropped.
I have about 15 pieces almost ready to drop… just a wee bit of final touches and then I can hit the streets.
Much Much Love,
So after day days on end of very out of the ordinary weather which prevented me from posting art outside yesterday it finally eased up enough for me to take a little trip to post a few pieces. I still could not drop anything outside due to fierce winds, but I decided that the Tel Aviv Central bus station could use a little sprucing up.
If you take a bus to the bus station and get off on the 7th floor you can find item number 13/1000 right next to the information board as you enter:
There is a small collection of art studios tucked away in a very quiet corner of the bus station on the 5th floor.
On my way there I dropped off 14-16/1000
I finally arrived at Studio Sfog and put the last piece of the night 17/1000 right across from the entry way. If you are interested in art, and are ever in the TA central bus station, going there is a must. It is located on the 5th floor, in an area that you might think is abandoned, unless you look closely. Finding it can be a bit difficult…. but it is well worth it :). It is nestled in with a few other very interesting shops and studios that most of you had no idea were there.
Looks like today might be the big day where I actually get a decent camera and can post some good photos here for once :).
Thank you all for the great feedback and support.
Much much love,
